Bellerbys College provides specialist university preparation for international students. Many international students choose to study at a UK university in order to gain a universally respected medical degree. Successfully preparing for medical school requires a well-rounded education. Our Brighton and Cambridge Colleges offer two different programmes of study for students aiming to progress to medical degrees. By studying at either of these Colleges, you will benefit from quality teaching, academic enrichment and help with your university application.

Entry to UK medical schools is extremely competitive. We advise that students wishing to study Medicine at university to achieve a minimum of IELTS 7.0.

Elite Medics in Brighton

Elite Medics gives future doctors the opportunity to prepare for entry to medical school alongside their A Level programme. Medical school places are highly competitive but as one of our Elite Medics, you will be guaranteed an interview at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS), providing you with the best chance to go on to study medicine.

Founded in 2002 and full of modern teaching facilities, BSMS was ranked 1st for student satisfaction (National Student Survey, 2015). The school is one of only 32 medical schools in the UK recognised by the General Medical Council.

 Students will attend sessions every two weeks run by the BSMS which will be split between Bellerbys Brighton and BSMS. Students will also visit the medical school once a month throughout the programme.

  • Students can apply to up to four medical schools
  • Most medical schools will require you take either the BMAT or UKCAT tests
  • You must include a personal statement, including details of all your voluntary work and relevant experience
  • Admissions tests are taken shortly after submitting your UCAS application
  • Successful students will be invited to interview in December or January

Our Cambridge College benefits from being located in the city of science. Many scientific and medical advances have come from Cambridge, with the world-famous University of Cambridge situated here. By preparing for your future medical career at Bellerbys Cambridge, the city can inspire you to achieve great things.

As well as quality academics, our Cambridge students benefit from visits from University of Cambridge students who provide valuable insight on the application process.

A series of specialist workshops delivered by Medical Portal; sponsored by The Royal Society of Medicine. These sessions are all delivered by medical students and qualified doctors from some of the top Medical schools in the country.

  • UKCAT Preparation - A one day, interactive UKCAT course that breaks down the mechanics behind all UKCAT question types
  • BMAT Preparation – A one day ‘Mastering the BMAT’ course covering each of the three examined sections of the BMAT, providing the knowledge and framework to excel at this difficult aptitude test
  • Personal Statement Workshop
  • Medical School Interview Course – A comprehensive one day Mastering the Medical School Interview’ course that fully prepares students for the 3 interview types - Traditional, Multiple Mini Interview and Oxbridge
  • Project Based Learning Workshop – A two hour, interactive workshops which provides a practical and engaging introduction to this unique style of learning used by many medical schools
  • In addition there is:

  • One to one coaching for the UKCAT and BMAT medical entry tests to help you get used to test conditions
  • Interview practice with current medical students studying at top institutions; for Pharmacy students a University of Cambridge graduate works directly with the students to conduct mock interviews
