The Bellerbys Undergraduate Year 1 in Business and Management is equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree – allowing you progress to the second year of a business-related degree at one of 28 UK universities.

Who is this course for?

If you want to progress to a wide choice of UK universities to study a business-related degree, but feel you’d benefit from spending your first year in a supportive and international environment, this is the programme for you. You’ll study with classmates with similar ambitions from all over the world, under the guidance of teachers who are specialists in international education, to ensure you feel prepared to begin the second year of your degree at your chosen university. You'll have the chance to progress to a range of universities, including members of the prestigious Russell Group.

Why should I study the Undergraduate Year 1?

Developed in close partnership with Aston University, you’ll study specialist business modules alongside English language preparation, over your choice of two or three terms, helping you to gain the skills to join the second year of your chosen degree. Our Undergraduate Year 1 is taught in one of the world’s top business hubs, on our vibrant London campus. By studying in London, you’ll be able to immerse yourself in the exciting world of business outside the classroom.

Three term Undergraduate Year 1

Our three-term Undergraduate Year 1 combines business modules with our Academic English Skills (AES) module, providing you with training in the language and academic skills you’ll need to reach your potential at university. Our AES qualification even means can progress to 18* universities without further IELTS testing.

Accelerated Undergraduate Year 1**

If you’re looking to join your undergraduate degree even sooner, our Accelerated Undergraduate Year 1 allows you to study the programme in just two terms. This is an intensive course of study, with eight modules taught over the two terms. You will benefit from additional study hours each week ensuring you gain the skills you need for university. As this is an accelerated programme, you’ll be expected to commit to a high level of private study in order to succeed in this demanding programme.

After successfully completing your two terms of study and achieving the required grades, you’ll be able to progress to the second year of your chosen degree at Aston University, Bangor University, University of Brighton, University of Chichester, Coventry University, Coventry University London Campus, University of East Anglia, University of Exeter, Keele University, Middlesex University, Northumbria University, Regent’s University London, University of Strathclyde or University of Westminster.

We understand you may face disruption in receiving your final academic results and English language test in 2020. Whilst our courses are online, we have introduced the following changes so that you can start your journey and we can get you to where you want to be.

By studying the Undergraduate Year 1, you will receive a unique conditional offer of progression to study at Aston University. You will have the opportunity to progress to the second year of a degree at Aston University, subject to achieving the grade and IELTS/Academic English Studies required. You can choose to study:

  • BSc Business and Management (Hons) (with options in Economics, Accounting, Information Systems and Analytics)
  • BSc Accounting and Finance (Hons)
  • BSc Marketing (Hons)

You have the opportunity to progress to the second year of a degree at Aston University, subject to achieving the grade and IELTS/Academic English Studies required. Please note, all letters of conditional progression are subject to change.

Aston University academic scholarship

Upon completion of the programme and progression to the University, two students on the Undergraduate Year 1 programme have the opportunity to receive a scholarship of £1,500 from Aston University.

You can apply to other universities through UCAS. The Undergraduate Year 1 is accepted by over 20 universities:
