Our Foundation programme is a respected alternative to A Levels that is widely accepted by many UK universities. Each Foundation pathway is accredited by Lancaster University. Some of our Foundation subject pathways offer conditional direct progression to top universities.
You can choose from 12 subject pathways, all offering our high quality teaching. In just one year you will develop your subject knowledge, English language and study skills in preparation for your degree.
If you need to improve your academic and/or English language level before starting your Foundation programme we also offer an Extended Foundation programme.

If you want to work in the creative industries, our Art and Design Foundation course provides you with the perfect basis to start your studies. Prepare for a university degree in art, design or an arts-related subject. Combined with English and study skills, this course provides all the experience you need for further study in the UK.
The Finance, Business and Management Foundation develops your skills in economics, accounting, finance and management in preparation for undergraduate study in these areas. Live and learn in centres of excellence and entrepreneurship.

If you're considering a career in international trade and logistics, mergers and acquisitions, insurance and underwriting, financial law or international business management, the Business with Law Foundation is the ideal pathway to help you achieve success. You'll study the English legal system, accounting, business and more.
The Business with Marketing Foundation is designed for ambitious students seeking a career in marketing, advertising, event management, public relations or brand and fashion management. It offers the ideal foundation in research, campaign development and digital marketing techniques.
The Computing Foundation pathway is ideal if you plan to go on to study computer science, software engineering or IT related courses at university. The programme includes units in web design, programming and business as well as the core foundation modules. You'll learn from specialist teachers in state-of-the-art facilities.
The Chemical Engineering Foundation prepares you for a UK university degree in chemical engineering or a related field. You will cover a broad range of subjects on this programme, including core principles of chemistry, electricity and fields, kinetics, properties of matter, mechanics and pure maths.

The Engineering Foundation prepares you for a UK university degree in engineering or a related field. The first stage is to complete a Foundation programme that focuses on the academic skills you need for further study. Choose your modules to specialise in either Chemical Engineering or Computer Science and Engineering.

Choose the International Relations and Politics Foundations to learn about modern British politics, political institutions and concepts, key features of global political systems, ideologies and theories. This pathway teaches you to understand a world dominated by politics and globalisation.
If you're interested in studying psychology, media, international relations, politics, geography, English literature or other related fields at university, the Humanities Foundation gives you the skills you need to study for undergraduate study. You will study diverse subjects including psychology, criminal behaviour, research method and more.
The Law Foundation is designed to prepare you to study law or politics at university in the UK. The course introduces the fundamentals of law and politics as well as the core foundation modules in English and study skills. Enrichment programmes let you experience and understand your subjects in a real-world setting.
The Media Foundation is designed to prepare you to study a media or communications-related degree at university in the UK. The specialist course gives you solid foundations in all areas of communication. You will study film, advertising, marketing, media theory, multimedia journalism and more.

If your academic references and personal statement meet the required standard, and you pass your Foundation programme with the required grades and English language level, you will progress to your chosen degree.
