Foundation courses

University entry through our Foundation programme

Our Foundation programme is a respected alternative to A Levels that is widely accepted by many UK universities. Each of our Foundation pathways is accredited by the top-ranking Lancaster University.

Why study Foundation?

Studying a Foundation programme is a great way to fully immerse yourself in a subject before university study. During your one-year programme, you will prepare for your degree by developing both your subject knowledge, English language level and study skills.

Why choose Bellerbys?

You can choose from 11 subject pathways, all offering our high-quality teaching. Foundation classes are small, with an average class size of between 10-12 students.

We have close links to a variety of universities across the UK – some even coming with conditional offers of study. To help you choose the best university for you, we offer a series of guest lectures and presentations from different UK universities.

We will also provide guidance with your university application, to ensure you can get into the best university for you.

If you need to improve your academic and/or English language level before starting your Foundation programme we also offer an Extended Foundation programme.

English Language Preparation

If you don’t meet the English language entry requirements for the GCSE, A Level, Foundation or UG1programme, you can study one to three terms of English speaking and writing to help you get there.

“I really like studying engineering at Bellerbys because a lot of engineering things are really practical. We have the facilities and we do a lot of experiments to do the theory but in practice.”
