Enrichment at Bellerbys

At Bellerbys, we know that learning is about more than what happens in the classroom. Choose from our exciting enrichment programmes, learn more about the subjects you love and choose to do well in the future. 

Our programmes cover a wide range of subjects, so there's something for everyone. In addition to being a great way to make new friends, enrichment activities will help you develop skills that impress employers and universities.

 

Enrichment activities:

Architectural Junk Modelling

On this course you will learn modelling techniques using materials such as paper, cardboard, matchsticks, recycled packaging and even pasta and biscuits. This practical course is open to those with no prior design experience who would like to experiment in 3D, as well as those wanting to develop their portfolio.

ARTiculation Prize

Develop your presentation and research skills in this public speaking competition based on art. As well as being great if you are planning on studying an art-based degree, the competition is also useful if you are interviewing at high ranking universities.

B Elite (exclusive to Bellerbys London)

This programme is an elite package designed exclusively for students with high achievement potential. It includes a selection of exciting workshops, activities and events designed to help you further expand their skillset, discover new ones and strengthen your application to competitive universities and potential employers.

Branding and logo design

In this course you can learn how to create your own logo for personal and professional use.

Circular Economy

In this class, you will discuss how a circular economy is the vital alternative to a traditional linear economy. You will learn how we must keep finite resources in use for as long as possible, and why we must extract the maximum value from them whilst in use and apply circular economy thinking to supply chains and waste management.

CISI Corporate Finance Certificate

The CISI tests your finance skills by giving you the opportunity to invest in virtual shares whilst learning about the industry. You can also gain extra UCAS points through the course.

Current Affairs

In this activity, you can develop your analytical skills and understanding of the issues which are shaping our future. This class helps keep you up to date with what's happening in the world (politically, socially and economically). It will also boost your curiosity, cultural awareness and communication skills.

Digital Photography - Exploring Composition

On this course you will learn about framing and visual communication techniques including tips to enhance your composition when framing your subject choices.

Debate Club

Here, you can develop an understanding of real world issues whilst improving their language skills and preparing for university interviews.   

Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a way to gain new skills, meet friends and enhance your CV. During the award you complete volunteering with a charity, a range of activities and an expedition trip. It is highly regarded by universities and employers as develops your confidence and team building skills, preparing you for life and work. There are three levels to the award – Bronze, Silver and Gold.

Fashion and the Teenager

If you have an interest in fashion, you can expand your knowledge with this specialised activity. Here, you express opinions, share your fashion sense and explore how teenagers express themselves in what they wear. This course is open to all and offers fun and enlightening insights into why we dress the way we do.

Film Club

This club allows you to talk about some of the most important and interesting films and directors of the last 100 years. You will discuss how these films can transport us to a different place or make us think deeply about our own lives. In each session the class chooses one theme, director or film to discuss and watch some clips. This class will help you develop your communication, imagination, cultural awareness, analytical thinking, discussion skills, positive attitude and creativity.

Financial learning and discussion club

This course will help you learn the core fundamentals that shape our financial system and discuss current events and arguments.

Gardening Club (Exclusive to Bellerbys Brighton)

As part of this club, you will maintain the school gardens. School gardens are a wonderful way to reconnect with the natural world, and you will learn valuable gardening and agriculture concepts and skills that integrate with several subjects, such as math, science, art, health and physical education, and social studies.

Global Social Leaders

The aim of this global competition is to develop your understanding of global citizenship and how to turn your innovative ideas into reality and join a global movement of socially conscious leaders. You will learn all about sustainable development and develop your own social or environmental campaigns.

Law Society

In this society, you will learn the fundamentals of Criminal Advocacy via an exciting range of case studies. This is an opportunity to hone argument and perfect skills of public speaking.

Math clinic

This club provides you with the opportunity to expand and deepen your knowledge and challenge yourself with mathematical challenges. It will also provide support for classroom learning and guidance on how to approach math studies.

Model United Nations

The Model United Nations is a scenario-based simulation in which you will learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. This class will develop your ability to research, as well as public speaking, debating and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.

Photoshop

This online class is perfect if you would like to learn how to merge photos with other images to create a fantastical and surreal digital collage.

Physics Science Live

A lecture event which in the past has included talks on everything from particle physics to the idea of free will.

Renewable Energy

The session will introduce the content for Renewable Energy and discuss why it’s "no" to coal and "yes" to a fossil fuel-free future. You will also discuss global energy systems and the complexities of transitioning to cleaner sources of energy, and what this means in terms of a green industrial revolution.

Sustainable Business

In this activity, you will develop your understanding and leadership on Sustainable Business. You can learn how to run an enterprise that has minimal negative impact on the global or local environment, community, society, or economy.

Women In Architecture

Discover an extraordinary cohort of women whose work informs and inspires contemporary architectural practice. If you are interested in studying architecture or spatial design at university, or you would like to learn about another aspect of female creativity, then this is the class for you.
