Xi Shi

Xi Shi from China, who goes by the English name of Sophia, was one of the top London Foundation students in 2009.  But Sophia is not getting big-headed about her success; she’s far too humble for that!  In fact she gives the credit to others.

“Thanks to my teachers and all the staff, I got a satisfying result for my Foundation course and also a good result for my IELTS exam!”  Of course we always try to do our very best to help our students succeed, but the energy, motivation and talent comes from the students themselves and Sophia fully deserves her success for all her hard work during her Foundation course. As a result her final grade was an impressive 78%.

But Sophia has high ambitions and is now hungry to achieve even greater things in the future.  “I’m going to do the undergraduate programme in the University of Exeter, which is one of the top 10 universities in the UK” she says. “The campus here is very beautiful.  My major is Economics and Finance and the reason for this is that my country is still a developing country so we need more people with good economic and financial knowledge”.

We are sure Sophia will prove a great success in Exeter.  Her Economics teacher, Rene Bradford, will always remember her as “A student who always goes that extra mile without any hassle, and enjoys the journey”.  Sophia certainly made the most of her “journey” at Bellerbys.  She says that “living and studying in an international college like Bellerbys has opened my eyes to the rest of the world.  I found that the Bellerbys Foundation course helped me get closer to achieving my objective to be a successful business woman”.
