MA in Marketing and Management. Fluent Polish, German, English (CAE)

"My job is to find you, dear student, somewhere nice to live and make sure your life outside the school is a very good and interesting experience.

I speak Polish, German and English.  At the moment I am ‘refreshing’ my Russian, which is quite funny as some Russian words sound hilarious to Polish speakers!  Last year I started learning Mandarin, which I find quite challenging (or if we translate directly from Polish: ‘I’m rubbish at it ;-).  I really like the sound of the Italian language and I have a feeling it will be the next one!

I am an international individual, happy to live wherever I am.  I have spent all my university time, and the few years since then, travelling to different countries and staying there for longer periods of time so that I could socialize with the people, live with them and, like them, get different jobs, etc - all this in order I get a wider world view and gain more skills and flexibility than I could by staying in Poland.

Ever since I can remember I’ve been interested in different countries and cultures.  I think that what the world really needs is to improve international communication and to combat bigotry and ignorance.  Learning languages is one of the easiest ways to start dialogues and those of us in the privileged position able to study other languages owe it to the vast majority (who are not) to do so.  My dream is to be able to improve my English and go abroad to teach it to people in poor parts of the world who otherwise couldn’t afford to learn.

Oxford is a very special city, a city of great diversity – home for many nationalities and cultures.  I couldn’t imagine a better place for foreign students to learn the English language and culture but also to meet people from other parts of the world, broaden your horizons, revise your political views, learn tolerance and initiate international friendships, find inspiration and ideas for how to make the world a better place."
