"To be honest, when I started A Levels at Bellerbys, I never thought one day I would be an investment banker. However, during the study at Bellerbys, I learnt to take my own initiative to work on my subjects. Due to the intensity of my programme (one-year A Level course), I was trained to manage time efficiently and be resistant when challenged. These skills gained are crucial competencies that made my way into the financial world.
London is cosmopolitan and busy. Having spent three years studying in London, I have fitted myself very well into the city. Being a truly international city, London has its unique cultural variety and you can meet people from all over the world. I enjoy the city for being dynamic and vibrant. It feels to me that it is a city full of challenges as well as opportunities.
I would definitely recommend Bellerbys College to new students.
I went to UK to study at Bellerbys in 2003. That was the first time I was separated from my parents for such a long distance and I knew nothing about the country where I was going to spend my next five years. However, after I came to the UK, I realized that one can never know how much potential they have until it is explored by the environment. Firstly, getting in to the London School of Economics (LSE) through just one year A-Level was challenging. As well as studying hard, I took every opportunity to participate in social activities. I volunteered to help the elderly at a local communal home in Cambridge with reading, looking after plants and outings. I also worked as a sales assistant at a local company for seven months to get as much feel as possible of English culture.
Life at LSE was totally different from my A Levels in quiet Cambridge. My first half year at LSE was overwhelming with so many challenges on study and profession. What was difficult was to take good care of both. I was at once confused and frustrated, but with a belief no matter how hard it was, I should at least be trying my best, I managed to make my way to Deutsche Bank as well as graduate from LSE with a good honour.
Now, I am working as a product controller in Deutsche Bank. Being my first job, it is full of expectation and opportunites. Life is hectic and busy and I am facing a very steep learning curve. It feels there are always things to learn and I am trying to pick up as much as possible at work."
