Meet Some Bellerbys Graduates

"The teaching at Bellerbys was really good, and I think I got the most out of our classes. Small groups and great teachers who were really helpful in preparing for A Levels. I got a lot of advice from Mr. Corcut on applying to Cambridge.
Bellerbys offered me a chance to meet people from all over the world - I mean, being Ukrainian, I have friends from Malaysia, the Philippines, Kazakhstan, Singapore, Brunei, Nigeria... it was a great opportunity to widen my cultural awareness!
Now I’m at Cambridge University and it is a very intense course. You have to be really organized to manage to do all the academic work in the short 8-week term, and get the most out of the opportunities you get socially. Cambridge has every sort of society you might imagine; an amazing theatrical scene and a wonderful mix of interesting people. It’s not a conservative place - the traditions that are kept these days (e.g. Formal Halls or not walking on college lawns before you have graduated) are quirky rather than strict, and you come across some funny ones too, such as throwing three selected freshers into the pond - to get to know the ducks, I suppose (ducks are somewhat of an Emmanuel symbol)!
At first, coming here was a bit of a culture shock but it’s great now, and I keep discovering funky phrases and random facts about the UK! I guess I’m lucky to be at Emma, which has the reputation of being one of the friendliest colleges."
