"Our purpose as an academic team is to help each student achieve their fullest potential. We do this by giving students high quality teaching by well-qualified, experienced teachers; by providing superb facilities outside the classroom; and by developing a partnership with students which seeks to ensure that interaction in class is as productive as possible.

Students are closely monitored by their academic tutors. Each student has a tutor - usually one of the student's subject teachers - whom the student meets once a week for a tutorial session. The academic tutor gets to know the student very well, and will also help with university applications and by writing the references for the student. The tutor will go through the student's reports with him, discussing how much progress the student has made in each subject.

Finally, students' learning can sometimes be affected by non-academic matters. The student counsellor, academic tutors, programme managers and I are all sympathetic and discreet if a student wishes to discuss a problem which is troubling him. We do our best to ensure that all our students have a happy and highly productive experience with us; most of our students come to us with a dream, and we are proud that so often we succeed in helping the student to make the dream come true."
