Erin Robinson

"The friendliness of my colleagues and the students makes it a great place to work.  I had expected to become more of an academic and planned to do a PhD in English with the hope of becoming a university professor.  However, after three years teaching English in Japan I realised that I enjoyed teaching English language.

I enter students for their GCSE and A Level exams and make sure their teachers have the resources and training they need to prepare students well for these exams.  I'm also an IELTS exam preparator.  I do this because I'm interested in the topics covered in IELTS (animal rights, censorship, and so on) and enjoy debating these issues.  Seeing students grow in both ability and confidence in speaking English is also very rewarding, particularly when they start using vocabulary you've just taught them.

In my spare time I like reading, watching films and playing video games.  I alternate between more literary books and films and my favourite genre, which has always been horror.  I love London's architecture and the richness of its past.  I'd recommend the Tower of London, Green Park and a London Walks Tour - preferably a ghost tour!"
