London - Activities

What's on at Bellerbys London

We always encourage students to develop themselves constructively in whatever way they wish.  If any student would like to suggest ideas for activities, clubs or exercises, we will do our best to support you in your efforts.  Our Activities Manager is dedicated to making sure you make the most of your time at Bellerbys College.

Clubs and weekly events

There are several student clubs at Bellerbys London, from debating to golf.  There are weekly sports activities including running in Regents Park, free yoga sessions at the school and indoor football.  In addition, from September to June, there is a weekly student social programme.  You can find copies of the programme on the notice boards in the reception area.

Regular events include a weekly visit to a local pub with teachers (a good chance to practise your English in an informal environment), football or other sports and visits to places of interest on a Friday afternoon.  The rest of the programme varies each week and reflects the interests of the students and the events in London.  Recent programmes have included theatre, cinema and restaurant visits and much more!

Excursions

Students can also join trips organised by an experienced tour operator.  Tickets for these excursions can be bought from the bookshop.  Full-day excursions often include trips to the university cities of Cambridge and Oxford, to the cathedral town of Canterbury and other picturesque cities, towns and villages.  These excursions typically cost from GBP 20-30.

Adventurous students can also join in on weekend trips - to destinations around Britain and overseas such as Scotland, Paris, Dublin and Amsterdam.  Prices vary but a typical weekend trip will cost around GBP 120 inclusive of travel, half-board accommodation and a sightseeing tour.

During the summer, the college itself organises a full programme of excursions.  You can find out more from Student Services.

Bellerbys London Student Union, otherwise known as the Year Book Crew

London Students Create First Student Year Book

A small but dedicated group of students in our London college got together this year to form a Student Union and to create the first ever Bellerbys Year Book, complete with photographs, wishes and thoughts from all students at the college.

Overseen by Sara Bewes, Extra-Curricular Activities Coordinator, the group consisted of Anna Linetskaya (Creative Director), Julia Mitryaeva (Art Director), Megi Ivanova (Chairman), Sebi Zykaj (Copywriter) and Jirarat Chirativataka Sign (Computer Techie).

Anna Linetskaya described the project as being an unforgettable experience.  "Being part of the Year Book Crew is an unforgettable experience: you meet new people, communicate with them and you understand that you have made so many new friends.  The best prt of the whole process was observing how other people get involved in a project that you have created.  Our first Year Book is a product of great team work, because every student of Bellerbys College London participated in the creation of it!"
