Karolina Tatarenkova

"To begin with, I would like to introduce myself: my name is Karolina and I come from Far East of Russia.  Additionally, I am studying GCSE program in Cambridge that I greatly satisfied with.  Frankly speaking, I had already visited a lot of counties such as France, Canada, Austria and Germany before coming to the UK.  Despite the fact that I had the option of studying there, I came to the decision to stay in Cambridge.

The GCSE program is set up for two years, even though we are covering it over nine months.  It cannot be denied that it is highly intensive course, meanwhile with help of the excellent teachers we do all our best to get high marks.

During my first few days at Bellerbys College, the staff helped me settle in quickly.  A full induction rogram was given so that I was able to meet my highly intelligent tutor and other members of Manor College.

Manor College is a self-contained campus located in the beautiful area.  The thing that amazed me is that a great amount of facilities are included such as cafeteria, art studio, science and computer labs and a well-stocked library, where I spend most of my time.  Likewise, extra classes are also offered in order to improve your knowledge or to be better prepared the coming exams.  That is why I am taking extra lessons in Chemistry and Accounting which I enjoy immensely.

Similarly, the teaching at Bellerbys is consistently praised for outstanding quality.  We are formed into the small groups according to our level of English. I also find lessons dynamic, enjoyable and focused on results.  Well, I am extremely grateful indeed for the help I have from all the teachers.  I have an invaluable chance to practice my listening, techniques and speaking skills.  A competitive atmosphere is present in the college, which is fantastic, because it gives me sheer determination to bring my goals up.

Fortunately, we do have some spare time, when we can make ourselves busy with sightseeing or visiting activities that the college offers: cinema, swimming, ballet, French, acting or football and so on.  As for me, I prefer to relax visiting London or going cinema and, of course, shopping.  In addition, sometimes my host family invites me to go out with them, which is marvelous, because it gives me a chance to immerse myself fully in British culture and feel part of the family.

Finally, Cambridge is a delightful place to live and to study.  It is located near the countryside, has a cosmopolitan atmosphere and the entertainment facilities it provides are excellent.  Personally, when I stepped off the plane here I was fascinated with such a clean and unpolluted air as well as with the hospitality of the people.
