"For me, working at Bellerbys is an enjoyable experience after having run my own business and also having taught at various higher education establishments. Early retirement proved after three months to be dull and boring, thus when an opportunity arrived to pass on some of my experience in business to young people I was happy to accept.
The subjects which I teach are varied and based either on my practical or academic experiences. Having written papers and reviewed for journals, I realised the importance of academic comment for younger people. Bellerbys, as I have experienced it, has a relaxed but determined approach to teaching which is very user-friendly and shows a great deal of consideration for overseas students.
Having once been an overseas student myself, I realise the importance of cross-cultural understanding. Also, there exists amongst the staff a friendly atmosphere of cooperation and this within the surroundings of a rather beautiful old college building which lifts ones spirits on a daily basis makes working at Bellerbys an enjoyable experience.
My own interests are wide but tend to specialise within the art world and the stock market. I trained as an architect prior to studying history and sociology so it is natural that Cambridge, which also offers so much of each, should prove an ideal locale in which to live. The city has so much to offer in the way of fine buildings, history, museums, libraries and so on, that students cannot but be able to avail themselves of a large slice of British culture in a small friendly city close to London."
