This course is ideal if you:

  • are aged 15 or over
  • want to improve your English skills before joining an academic programme
  • want additional study skills that will allow you to excel on your next course


Comprehensive language development

A formal English language qualification is vital to your success.  You'll also need broader study skills to excel in academic programmes.  Each week on on the Bellerbys English Language Preparation programme you will study:

  • 10 hours of General English, including grammar, structure and meaning
  • 10 hours of Examination Preparation, including essay writing, reading and question practice
  • 5 hours of Skills Classes, including listening, vocabulary building and note-taking.


Personalised study plan with close monitoring and regular testing

We will test your English when you first apply to Bellerbys and then advise you on the length of time needed to study before your academic programme.  Throughout the course, a personal tutor will closely monitor your progress and regular testing will ensure you remain on track.
