Alina Zhunussova

They say that some people are leaders and some people are followers.  Well, if that’s true, then Alina Zhunnussova from Russsia is definitely a leader.  During her Foundation Media course here at Bellerbys London, she was always at the forefront of activities, both academic and extra-curricular.  Chris Hovell, Foundation Programme Manager, highlights Alina’s impressive character: “She was always super proactive and showed great leadership quailities in making films in groups.  She is a very mature young person, with great social skills and fully deserves her place at Goldsmiths.”

Not only did Alina excel academically, producing some outstanding Media work, but she was also heavily involved in things outside her classrooms.  She designed a fantastic logo for the yearbook and even worked with our Principal Andy Quin to take photos for the school whenever Andy needed her.  Again, the quality of her work and her positive attitude made her a standout student.  Sara Bewes, our Extra Curricular Activities Coordinator, describes Alina as “extremely cooperative and hardworking” and of course these are exactly the kinds of qualities that will serve her very well in her new adventure now at Goldsmiths.

So, how does Alina herself feel about her successful time her at Bellerbys? “ I am REALLY happy about my marks!  I've spent quite a while studying in Bellerbys, and now as I am a university student I feel that this was valuable time spent.  The Foundation Media course was huge fun!  What else can i say?  It was great =)”.

Alina is one of our first students to study Creative Computing at university level and this seems like a great way to combine her excellent creative and organisational skills.  As Chris says, “she has a great future ahead of her in a growing field”.  Alina herself is already looking forward to getting down to business at Goldsmiths.  “I am really interested in this area and really eager to start my studies this September” she says.
