Studied A Levels at Bellerbys London

Secured a place at Cambridge University to study Mathematics
When talking about Wang De-Zhi (known as Danny at the school), Maths teacher John McDarby’s eyes light up. “Danny is without doubt the most gifted maths student I have taught during my teaching career”. That is high praise indeed as John teaches many outstanding students at Bellerbys! What makes Danny so special?
“I was immediately impressed with Danny’s ability to understand and engage with new ideas as well as the maturity of his thinking”, says John. “It rapidly became apparent that Danny was both a remarkably talented student and a very enthusiastic mathematician and so he began to move on to more challenging work, including undergraduate, STEP and Olympiad mathematics, all of which he responded to with an aptitude and sense of enjoyment that I have never seen before in an A Level student.”
Danny has gone from strength to strength during his time studying A Levels at Bellerbys and this has been shown without question by his outstanding A Level results. Danny has shown Cambridge University that he has the talent to succeed there in his undergraduate Maths studies. Getting into Cambridge is already a wonderful achievement and one that he thoroughly deserves for all hard work and incredible passion for his subject. Not only has Danny excelled in the classroom, but he has also got involved in a number of extra projects to further his knowledge and experience. He was a key member of the Bellerbys team which entered the British Maths Olympiad (achieving a bronze medal) and the Senior Maths Challenge (where Danny received a gold certificate).
Danny’s academic and extra-curricular successes were recognised by Bellerbys College last year when he was awarded one of only two prizes for excellent academic performance by a first-year A Level student, as well as a prize for his exceptional contributions to our weekly maths challenge series.
Danny fully deserves all the praise we can give him and we have no doubt whatsoever that his staff and peers at Cambridge University will be equally impressed by this truly outstanding student. We are already looking forward to hearing about Danny’s next few steps on his journey of outstanding achievement in Maths.
