David Mackenzie

"Until recently I was in charge of IGCSE English, at the same time giving English assistance to A level groups.  At present I am teaching ELP part-time.  I had a great deal of experience in teaching English from young children, through GCSE to A level at a number of schools before joining Bellerbys a few years ago.

I have particularly enjoyed teaching foreign students as I find them very responsive.  One of my primary aims is to gain a good working relationship with the students, since I strongly believe that this is the key to success.  I also believe that ‘variety is the spice of life’ and much of my teaching is directed towards achieving a mixture of styles and content.  The lessons therefore focus on all aspects of English from grammar to literature, though I have a special interest in the origins of words.

My hobbies include many sports (including football and tennis), chess, music and writing."
