The Royal Observatory, Greenwich
Commissioned by Charles II in 1675 and designed by Christopher Wren, the Royal Observatory is home to Greenwich Mean Time, the world's Prime Meridian. Each new day, month and year starts here! The Observatory now stands as a museum of timekeeping and astronomy and will shortly open a state-of-the-art planetarium.
