"I teach Law at Bellerbys Brighton on A Level and Foundation courses, and occasionally on the Masters Qualifying Programme.  It is a fascinating subject (to some) and most the students are very amiable and keen to learn which is encouraging.

Law was my undergraduate degree from Sussex University and I then qualified as a Barrister.  However, having spent 15 years in the legal profession I thought it time for a slight change in direction and joined Bellerbys in 1995.  Then, keeping in with the spirit of education, I picked up an LLM and an MPhil in Law on the way.  However, too much postgraduate study of law can turn your head inside out so I decided to diversify and moved onto an MA in Classical Studies through Open University.

At much the same time I was 'dragged shouting and screaming' (well, quietly whimpering) into archaeology and became hooked.  Bellerbys was good enough to allow me a sabbatical year to study a Masters in Classical Archaeology at Oxford University in 2003.  During that year I was able to teach Foundation Law at Bellerbys in Oxford which was a bonus.

My doctorate at Sussex University was on the early British travellers to Crete and their contribution to the island's Bronze Age archaeological heritage.  It was a good reason to spend most my spare time over five years in Crete!

Along with my law teaching and HE Deputy Programme Manager duties at Bellerbys, I'm also a Visiting Research Fellow in Archaeology at Sussex University.  I don’t have much time to get bored."
