Alan Beer

"I came to Bellerbys in 1993 to teach Law, and I enjoyed it so much that I’m still here years later. I still teach Law A Level and I am also responsible for all the Foundation students.

One of the greatest strengths of Bellerbys, and part of the reason why I’ve been here for such a long time, is that, hand on heart I can say that the staff here are very friendly, and very interested in the students. Obviously it’s a very cosmopolitan place to work in, and the students are very hard-working and motivated, and very interesting – they come from all sorts of backgrounds, have all sorts of interests. In my group at the moment, I have students in the classroom from countries like Bulgaria, mainland China, Russia, Ukraine, and of course the main purpose for them to be here is to proceed onto university, but along the way we get to know the students and they get to know us, the staff. I would say that’s a big reason why I’m still enjoying working here and the staff are happy to have Bellerbys as their place to work."
