Brunel University
Brunel University, in West London, boasts a 100% 'excellent' teaching standard, as judged by the Government's own audit process.
The university is currently investing in a multi-million pound development plan of its sporting, teaching and research facilities to celebrate 40 years as a university in 2006.
City University
City has built a reputation as the university for business and the professions and has an excellent graduate employment record. The Times Good University Guide ranked City 4th out of 111 universities in the UK for graduate prospects.
It is located in central London on the borders of the City, one of the world’s leading financial centres, and the exciting West End.
University of East London
Students from UEL have gone on to great things and include winners of the Turner Prize, Young Architect of the Year and Young Woman Engineer of the Year awards, RIBA medal winners, high- profile media lawyers and award-winning fashion designers!
The three campuses are all within easy reach of the city and all the shopping, entertainment and cultural opportunities it has to offer.
University of Greenwich
The University of Greenwich attracts over 4,000 students from more than 80 countries, drawn by the university's unique combination of 'old' and 'new' university traditions.
The Maritime Greenwich Campus next to the River Thames is home to the university's Business School. The Sunday Times describes it as 'a campus to make many of its longer-established rivals turn green.'
Goldsmiths, University of London
Goldsmiths is part of the internationally respected University of London, and is UK's leading university in the creative arts, humanities and social sciences.
Based in New Cross, south-east London, it has excellent transport connections to the heart of the capital. Everything is together on a single-site campus, and accommodation is guaranteed for all international students.
Kingston University
‘London’s top ranking new university’ (The Guardian, May 2006) is based in Kingston upon Thames, a riverside town just 25 minutes from central London.
Most students study at the Penrhyn Road campus near the town centre which has benefited from an investment of £15 million on new teaching and learning facilities over the last few years.
London Metropolitan University
LMU has the largest choice of courses in London and is ranked as the top new university for international students.
The university has many specialist facilities to support their courses, including: a mock courtroom for law Courses; a lighting laboratory complete with artificial sky and heliodon for architecture students and a Technology Tower, with 7 floors of computers.
Middlesex University
One of the largest universities in the UK, Middlesex is also one of the most popular with international students.
Business and law courses are taught at the university's Hendon campus, one of London's largest centres for business and professional education. The campus has much investment of late and new facilities include a library and learning resource centre.
School of Pharmacy, University of London
Established in 1842, The School of Pharmacy, University of London is one of the world’s leading schools of pharmacy and the only institution in the UK dedicated to education and research in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences.

Queen Mary College, University of London

Roehampton University

Royal Holloway College, University of London
Also part of the University of London, Royal Holloway enjoys an international reputation for the highest quality teaching and research across the sciences, arts and humanities.
Set in 120-acres of parkland in Surrey, the university is ranked 9th in the UK by the Financial Times, 10th by the Daily Telegraph, 12th by The Times and 13th by The Guardian.
South Bank University
South Bank University has been ranked 8th for graduate starting salaries in The Sunday Times Good University Guide. It has also climbed 13 places in the overall rankings.
With nearly 18,000 students, it is one of the largest universities in London and has a strong emphasis on vocational and applied subjects, aided by specialist industrial and professional links.
Universities in The Midlands
Aston University
Aston University in Birmingham consistently rates highly in the rankings of UK universities. The Business School is described by the Times Higher Education Supplement as 'best for business'.
This small, friendly campus, within walking distance of the centre of England's second city, was also recently voted No.1 for Student Life in a nationwide poll.
University of Buckingham
Buckingham is the UK's only independent university and, with just 1,000 students, probably the smallest. Students benefit from a high teacher to student ratio - one member of staff for every 10 students.
The attractive, quiet, safe campus provides the perfect place to study and is surrounding by counties with plenty to offer, including shops, pubs and restaurants, idyllic country retreats and walks.
De Montfort University
Located in Leicester, in the centre of England, De Montfort University is a leading institution for its professional, creative and vocational education, underpinned by research excellence.
It is rated as 'excellent' for Accountancy, Business & Management, and Politics (Sunday Times University Guide 2006) and ranks in the top 20 for Architecture (Times Good University Guide 2007).
Keele University
Situated in Staffordshire, occupying at 617 acre estate, Keele is the largest integrated campus university in the UK. The stunning university site is Grade II registered by English Heritage and features the 19th century Keele Hall.
Accommodation in one of the 3,200 study bedrooms, complete with free broadband internet access, is guaranteed for international students throughout their stay as full-time students.
University of Leicester
Leicester achieved outstanding results in the new National Student Survey. It came joint 1st for overall student satisfaction, teaching quality, academic support and personal development.
The Economics department was rated joint top in the country. Other succesful departments include Politics (joint 2nd), Physical Sciences (joint 3rd), Psychology (joint 7th) and Biological Sciences (joint 9th).
Loughborough University
Loughborough University is thriving. This year, in recognition of its outstanding performance in the recent National Student Survey, its excellent record for teaching quality, the university has been shortlisted for the Sunday Times University of the Year award.
The Sunday Times ranked Loughborough second only to Cambridge for teaching quality and came first for student satisfaction.
Nottingham University
Nottingham University scored well in The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2005. It was ranked as the 12th best university in the UK, plus top for Agriculture courses, 4th for Civil Engineering, 6th for Business and 7th for Law, amongst others.
Located in the heart of England, Nottingham has all the benefits of a city plus the beautiful rural scenery of the Peak District National Park.
Universities in North England
University of Chester
Founded in 1839, the University of Chester draws strength from a history longer than that of most other British universities. However, it is also a modern, innovative institution and it has a well-deserved reputation for the quality of its education, and for the high standard of its student care and support.
The University is situated in the North West of England, not far from the large cities of Liverpool and Manchester. Chester itself is a small and safe city – very beautiful and with a history going back to Roman times.
Durham University
Founded in 1832, Durham University is England’s third oldest university after Oxford and Cambridge. It has an outstanding reputation both national and internationally and consistently ranks amongst the top universities in the world.
In The Times Good University Guide 2007/08, English was ranked as the top department in the country, with five other departments ranked among the top five in the country: Chemistry, Engineering, Geography, History and Physics.
Lancaster University
The 2005 Sunday Times League tables rank Lancaster University 2nd in the north-west and in the top ten for both research and student satisfaction. Lancaster has three main faculties: Arts & Social Science, Management and Science & Technology.
Located within easy reach of the city, Lake District and National Park, the main campus is set in 250 acres of attractive, safe parkland.
University of Leeds
With 30,500 students from over 130 countries, Leeds is the UK’s second largest university. It also offers one of the widest ranges of academic courses in the UK – 700 undergraduate and 400 postgraduate courses.
The university is among the top ten in the UK for research and is internationally acknowledged as a centre of excellence in a wide range of academic and professional disciplines.
University of Liverpool

Liverpool John Moores University
LJMU is one of the leading research-active modern universities in the UK. It is also top of the league for teaching in applied social work, health studies, hospitality, sport and tourism, physics and astronomy.
The university is based in the heart of the world-famous city of Liverpool, chosen as the European Capital of Culture for 2008. The city is celebrating with an eight-year programme of cultural activities.
University of Newcastle
'Academically good right across the board', is how The Virgin Alternative Guide to British Universities 2003 describes this university.
Many Newcastle students have won prestigious awards. These include a Mechanical Engineering student who won a STEP enterprising student award and Computer Science students who won the 2004 IBM University Business Challenge Trophy.
Northumbria University
Northumbria University is gaining a reputation as one of Britain’s best modern universities. Based in the friendly city of Newcastle upon Tyne, the university has recently undertaken a £100 million redevelopment which includes new buildings housing the Schools of Law, Art and Business.
Sheffield University
Sheffield has a history that dates back to 1828 and a world-class reputation across many disciplines. The Times Good University Guide ranks it 20th in the UK and The Virgin 2005 Alternative Guide to British Universities describes it as, "a top university across the board".
Sheffield has recently been named as both England's greenest city and safest city. It also has the lowest student living costs in the UK.
University of Sunderland
Sunderland has a growing reputation as a university for enterprise and employment. 92% of Sunderland graduates go on to get a job or study a postgraduate course within six months of leaving.
The new Sir Tom Cowie Campus, on the banks of the River Wear, is home to the Media, Informatics and Business Centres, whilst science students study at the university's City Campus.
University of York
York ranks 7th out of 100 universities in The Times Good University Guide 2005. It rates the University first for teaching quality, highlighting that almost half of subjects assessed by inspectors were awarded 'perfect' scores. The Times comments: "No university can better York's record for teaching quality".
Universities in South England
Anglia Ruskin University
Based in Chelmsford and Cambridge, with excellent links to London, Anglia Ruskin University offers a wide range of courses and prides itself on being friendly and accessible.
The University has a great record for student success, illustrated by a recent Higher Education Statistics Agency survey. Over 93% of graduates that responded were in employment or further education.
University of Bath
Bath University is renowned for its science and engineering courses. In 2005, The Times Good University Guide ranked their Mechanical Engineering degree programme was second in the country.
The main campus at Claverton, just one mile from the centre of the World Heritage Site of Bath, combines excellent facilities and 200 acres of green space.
University of Brighton
The University of Brighton has one the best teaching quality ratings in the UK and a strong research record. It is especially renowned for its arts and business courses.
Brighton is a great place to be a student. The friendly city is a rich mix of seaside attractions, historic architecture, a lively arts scene, varied shopping and entertainment options and a cosmopolitan community.
University of Bristol
Bristol University, in south-west England, has a reputation for great teaching and internationally distinguished research. It is ranked 19th nationally in The Guardian's 2005 University Guide.
The Independent's A-Z of Universities 2001 describes Bristol as a 'beautiful historic city with a vibrant social and cultural scene. Good place to be a student'.
University of Essex
Essex is a friendly campus university, located in Colchester, Southend and Loughton, all within one hour's journey time of central London but with lower-than-London living costs. Essex is ranked in the top ten of UK universities for the quality of both its teaching and research, according to official government data.
Accommodation is guaranteed on the main campus, with all rooms within ten minutes' walk of the teaching buildings. Many rooms offer ensuite facilities and all have internet access.
University of Exeter
Exeter's School of Business and Economics ranks fourth for Finance & Accounting, seventh for Management, sixteenth for Economics and tenth as a whole in a new national student survey.
Exeter itself is described by the Virgin Alternative Guide to British Universities 2005 as 'one of the most beautiful campuses in the country, in one of the most beautiful counties in Britain.'
University of Hertfordshire
Within easy reach of London, yet surrounded by beautiful countryside, Hertfordshire offers the best of both worlds. Specialisms include engineering, IT, health and business degrees.
The new de Havilland campus is home to the Business School and Humanities Faculty. State-of-the-art facilities include a sports complex, 460-seat auditorium and Learning Resources Centre.
University of Kent
The University of Kent has recently been voted the top university in south-east England by students taking part in the National Student Survey. Specialisms include humanities and social science degrees and the university has an excellent graduate employability record.
The main campus at Canterbury covers 300 acres of gardens, ponds and woodland, yet is just over a mile away from the city.
Oxford Brookes University
For the fifth year running, Oxford Brookes has been named Best New University by The Sunday Times Good University Guide: 'The quality of both teaching and research is high. No modern university can match the 22 subjects rated excellent for teaching.'
Oxford Brookes is based on three campuses, all within easy travelling distance of the city centre and all with halls of residence on site.
Portsmouth University
Strong on geography, pharmacy, environment, business and science, Portsmouth University has gained a reputation for excellence in both teaching an research.
This campus by the sea is based in the friendly, lively city of Portsmouth, home of the Royal Navy and The Historic Dockyard - winner of the UK's largest tourist attraction of 2005.
University of Reading
University of Reading has a long and distinguished record in higher education dating back to 1892. Just 25 minutes away from London by train, the campus also has one of the most beautiful university settings in the UK with a lake and magnificent grounds.
The borough of Reading is known as the “Silicon Valley of the UK” due to being the home to many of the headquarters of some major IT companies, including Microsoft, Oracle and Cisco, providing many job opportunities for students.
Southampton University
Southampton is one of the UK's leading research universities. It also scores highly for student satisfaction in the National Student Survey - 85% of students gave their course a rating of four out of five.

University of Surrey, Guildford
The Guardian University League Table has placed University of Surrey, Guildford 17th overall for undergraduate programmes, out of 122 UK universities.
Guildford's strengths are sciences and engineering and the university is also ranked 9th for Biosciences, 10th for Mechanical Engineering, and 11th for both Civil and Electrical Engineering.
University of Sussex
Sussex is a leading research university, with an international reputation for quality and innovation and an emphasis on humanities, science and technology.
Situated between the beautiful South Downs and the lively town of Brighton, the Sussex campus is like a self-contained village with restaurants, bars, sports facilities and accommodation all on site.
Universities in Wales
Aberystwyth University
Based on the dramatic west coast of Wales, Aberystwyth has a high academic reputation based upon 130 years of teaching and research.

Bangor University
Bangor University, shortly celebrating its 125th anniversary, is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the UK and enjoys the privilege of having HRH Prince Charles as its Patron.
Bangor is listed among the top 20 universities in the UK in 15 different subject areas, and offers a high quality of student experience and high levels of student care.
Cardiff University
Cardiff University is a dynamic and successful centre of higher education with an international reputation for high quality teaching and research.
The city of Cardiff is described by The Times Good University Guide as 'popular with students, offering all the attractions of a large conurbation without such high prices as students experience elsewhere'.
Swansea University
Ranked second in Wales by The Sunday Times University Guide, Swansea has 12 subjects officially rated as excellent: Biological Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Classics and Ancient History, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Geography, History, Materials Engineering, Modern Languages, Physics and Psychology.
