Business, Finance & Management Foundation Course

The Bellerbys Business Foundation course is ideal for students wishing to study Business-related degrees at university, including Economics, Business Studies, Accounting, Marketing, Management Studies, Finance and Hotel & Tourism Management.  The course is carefully designed to focus on the academic areas most useful to your future study intentions.

You can choose to study the Business Foundation course at Bellerbys College Brighton, CambridgeLondon or Oxford and start the course in January, April or September.

Academic Structure

You will study core subjects, along with all other Foundation students, plus Business, Finance and Management modules.

Business Start-up & Human Resource Management
Learn about key challenges involved in setting up and managing a business including legal structure, influences on the business, finance, and Human Resource Management.

Marketing & Operations Management
Find out how to set up and operate a business and the legal, ethical and management issues involved. Learn through relevant case studies and examples from real business.

Introduction to Accounting
Understand the concepts behind Accounting.  Study practical skills of Accounting as well as how to interpret different accounts and budgets.

Microeconomics
Learn about economic systems, types of goods, allocation of resources, elasticity, price controls, types of markets, cost and revenue, economies of scale and market failure.

Macroeconomics
Learn about aggregate demand and aggregate supply, economic policies, inflation, unemployment, international trade and development economics.

Business Mathematics
Develop basic algebraic skills, including indices and logarithms, basic statistics, linear programming and basic calculus.

Where Next?

Students who successfully complete the Business Foundation course can join the following Bachelor Degree programmes with our university partners.

Business Foundation students may also apply to join the Bachelor of International Economics, Management and Finance degree course at Università Bocconi in Italy, which is taught entirely in English.
