Bellerbys Summer Choose from Academic or Creative summer programmes

The perfect international environment to practice your English language skills, nurture your creativity, deepen your academic knowledge and have fun!

The Bellerbys Summer courses can be undertaken either as preparation for further study in the UK or as a stand-alone course. The programme is designed to provide a basis in your chosen path and works perfectly as a pre-sessional programme to the long-term courses offered by Bellerbys.

The two pathways available are aimed towards developing your skills and the choice depends on the kind of experience you are looking to gain. You can choose between:
  • Bellerbys Academic Summer - Progress in your studies and learn new subjects
  • Bellerbys Creative Summer - Develop your creativity with art, media, photography and film specialisms

Each of the summer programme pathways include English language training, there is a minimum of 15 hours of English language tuition per week and a least 10 hours in academic or creative study. See the Academic and Creative tabs for more information on the programme structure.

Key facts:

  • Age: 14-17
  • Course length: 2 or 4 weeks
  • Entry requirements: IELTS 3.5, TOEFLY 417 (computer test equivalent 108) or Pearson Test of English Academic 30-34
  • Fees: £950 per week, inclusive of tuition fees, full board accommodation (en suite in Brighton and London), activities and excursions.

Improve your English and broaden your academic knowledge

The Bellerbys Academic Summer gives a taste of studying in the UK. It combines English language tutoring with a range of academic subject. You will also have the opportunity to visit some of our UK university partners to gain invaluable insight into the UK Higher Education systems andu university life.

Among the academic subjects on offer are Mathematics, Business Studies, Economics, History, Politics, Psychology and Sociology. We also offer students the option to take IELTS preparation lessons.

Have fun outside the classroom

Weekend excursions will include trips to historic cities, visits to Buckingham Palace and Madame Tussauds and exciting theme parks, such as Chessington World of Adventures and Longleat Safari Park. Our teachers will give you valuable information about the IELTS practice tests, strategies and tips to succeed in the IELTS exams.

The Bellerbys Creative Summer develops your skills in art, media, photography and film whilst also providing English language tuition.

Learn about the creative industries and take a tour of London where classic British movies, such as James Bond have been produced.

You can also study British media and its impact on society in the UK, improve your creative writing skills and find out what you need to produce news headlines!

Bring your learning to life with visits to local art museums, film nights and photography competitions.

Whether you love modern art, are fascinated by architecture, or have a flair for fashion or graphic design Bellerbys Creative Summer course can help you explore these exciting careers and make use of our specialist technology.

You can study the Bellerbys programmes for either 2 or 4 weeks. The start dates for the 2 and 4 week programmes at each of our Bellerbys College locations are below.


Brighton and London

23rd June 2014: 2 or 4 weeks

7th July 2014: 2 weeks only

21st July 2014: 2 or 4 weeks

4 August 2014: 2 weeks only


There will be no Bellerbys Summer programme in Cambridge or Oxford in 2014.
