Bellerbys College Oxford specialises in arts, humanities and law in an inspirational setting.

Did you know Bellerbys College Oxford is a specialist college for art, humanities and law? We spoke to one of our students who now studies at Falmouth University – a top university for the arts – about how the College helped her get there. We also spoke to Falmouth University about their recent lecture they gave to our Oxford students.

Natcha is from Thailand and she studied Art and Design Foundation at Bellerbys College Oxford. She’s now studying Architecture at Falmouth University. She said:

“Both Falmouth University and Bellerbys College are a fantastic place for an international student like me. It is a very warm place to study, not only for me but for other international students as well.

“Bellerbys helped me a lot in my portfolio and interview. Every Wednesday, we had enrichment where our tutors would comment and give us advice one-to-one. Not only that, sometimes for enrichment, Bellerbys took us to London or an inspirational art museum to help us with ideas and to create a strong sense of art.”

Falmouth University is ranked among the top 20 UK universities for Art and Design in the Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016

Falmouth University recently visited Bellerbys Oxford to talk to students as part of our enrichment lecture series. We spoke to Jon Unwin MA(RCA), Director of The School of Communication Design at Falmouth University, after his recent visit to Oxford. He said:

“Bellerbys College student’s have benefited from a classic foundation experience, that promotes creative thinking and skills development. Through their experience, they become familiar with the learning and teaching strategies promoted within top UK universities. Students need to be prepared to conduct independent research and idea development in relation to assignments. Through this approach they build their confidence and self-reliance, learn to work with 'uncertainty' and place creative risk at the heart of their work.”

“The students are well prepared, largely because they are immersed in the UK education culture, they have the opportunity to further develop their English skills and are taught to value not only skills development, but importantly the confidence to question traditional models of practice. This is a critical transitional and transformative period in their education, setting them up for the expectations of degree level study.”

Falmouth University visited the College as part of the enrichment lecture series we offer our students. It’s an inspiring way for them to find out more about their university options.

So far 13 Bellerbys Oxford students hold offers at Falmouth University.
