Whether you want to sample the best of British high school education, gain a guaranteed place at a top British university, or take a year to prepare for the challenges of a UK university bachelor’s or master’s degree course – we can help.
A General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) is a qualification in a specific subject. It’s taken by UK high school students aged 14–16, at the level below A level. GCSEs are really the first step on the path towards university, and all high school students in the UK aim to achieve a range of GCSE grades that allow them to progress onto A Level study and the degree programme of their choice.
At Bellerbys you can study for GCSEs from the age of 13, choosing from the following course options.
GCSE Pathway Programme
A two or three year programme that enables you to study for and attain a range of GCSEs in subjects that you’re passionate about, including:
- Modern Foreign Languages
- Business Studies
- Global Perspectives
If you’re under 16 years old and want to study the GCSE course at Bellerbys, but you don’t yet meet the 4.5 IELTS standard that we require, this pre-GCSE course will help you attain the level of English you need. It also introduces you to UK study methods and GCSE course subjects.
1-Year GCSE Programme
A one-year course available to students aged 15 or older. You’ll study English and Maths and choose four more GCSE subjects that interest you. When you complete this programme, you can enter directly into a Bellerbys Foundation course or A Level course.
All GCSE programmes at Bellerbys focus heavily on your English language learning needs, so you quickly grow accustomed to UK study methods. Our GCSE Pathway also includes specially tailored enrichment programmes that take you out of the classroom, teaching you more than the standard curriculum, with fun and inspiring tours, talks, university visits, projects and a range of other educational activities.
Bellerbys Foundation courses are designed for students aged 16 and a half or older, who want to gain entry to a top UK university. Our Foundation courses ensure that when your degree programme starts you have the study skills, subject knowledge, English language skills and the confidence needed to succeed at a British university.
Our Foundation courses are specifically tailored towards a range of degree subject areas. This means that the preparation you receive is truly relevant to the degree course you want to study. You can choose from Foundation courses in:

A Bellerbys Pre-Master’s course gives you the best possible start to your MA, MBA or MSc studies. Over the course of one or two terms, the programme combines intensive English language tuition and presentation, research and study skills training, as well as optional GMAT classes for those looking to progress onto an MBA course.
