Welcome back for term 2 to the returning students and to all the new students welcome to Bellerbys College London and Happy New Year! 2013 ended very quickly and I am sure all of you had a great time back at home with your friends and family. I know I did for sure. But coming back to college does not mean that all this fun is over, in fact the fun has just begun! 2014 is all about building on last year and, of course, meeting new people.

Speaking of which, this term we have more than 20 new students arriving at our college and, as a student ambassador, my job is to approach students and make them feel comfortable around the college (I love my job, and I’m very talkative).

Thanks to Andrew, who’s in charge of organising the extra-curricular activities, our new students are very keen on participating in the events we have provided such as Bellerbys night at Duke on Thursdays, Badminton on Fridays and much more!

All the newcomers seem to be settling in very quickly. They’ve made many friends through the induction week, after-school events such as French classes, Politics club, Economics club, etc. As Bellerbys London is not a very big college it didn’t take the new students very long to familiarise themselves with their classes. The staff members in the cafeteria, reception and accommodation were very helpful and welcoming towards our new students.

As you know, Bellerbys London provides a variety of subjects and courses to choose from. If ever you’re not sure of what you want to study, we have lots of helpful teachers who can advise you and give you feedback. The majority of the new students are taking Foundation Business - it’s the most popular subject at our college in London!

So, I have asked a few students ‘’How do you like Bellerbys so far?’’ Their honest response was that they like the fact that it is so diverse, with so many international students they don’t feel different from others and that’s why they find themselves settling in very quickly. Also, some had heard from friends and ex-students that Bellerbys would be the best place for international students to complete their university preparation course as it provides them a great environment where students come from different countries and they speak different languages. So students tend to find themselves equal to others, they aren’t intimidated as if they went to a British boarding school because in Bellerbys everyone is international.

To the new students, I hope you are thrilled to embark on this journey with us because we have so much more to look forward to together! And to the returning students, may you get the offers you want from your chosen universities!
