Well done if you have made the decision to study in the UK! You’ve probably made one of the best decisions of a lifetime. Well except eating chocolate and vanilla ice cream on the beach during the hot British Summertime. Some universities are a lot more popular than others.  However, stating there are any “best places” to study in the UK is synonymous with saying there is a best country or nation which, you may agree with me, would be quite ridiculous. Everyone has their individual and respective tastes and flavours which differ from person to person.

Why should I go to a UK university?

The UK is highly reputed for its education system. The entire UK is generally student friendly and alluring as most international students would tell you. However, there’s usually a lot of talk about university study in the UK because of the A level, personal statement and entire UCAS application process.  These are the primary stages that decide whether you get  accepted to the university of your choice.  Rest assured, there are a lot of colleges in the UK to help you with the process and, if you’re an international student, I recommend Bellerbys College the most as it is one of the leading colleges in adequately preparing you for university.

What UK universities should I go to?

Picking a single university from the variety available in the UK depends on a lot of factors. The top rated schools are usually a point of interest to almost everyone. Your career choice should come first though. Studying a course like Economics or PPE, I recommend applying to London School of Economics (LSE) or Oxford as they offer proper focus on your chosen career path from my experience. Another factor to be considered is the competitiveness of the course you want to study and the number of spaces available. For a really competitive course like medicine, it would not be wise to put all your eggs in one basket and apply to all the very competitive and top universities like Cambridge and Imperial. Try also considering the less competitive universities as they might be a perfect fit.

Another important factor to take into consideration is the locality. Some people prefer to study on a big campus and in a city bustling with life and activity, while some others may prefer the peace and quiet of a small town and hence may apply to University of Sheffield. However, class size, teaching methods, administrative order, success rates and graduate output may differ from school to school, and these are the factors considered in university league tables. That’s what makes each institution unique and different and hence some emerging as the top universities in the UK. It is now your job to research well and make your decision on which universities suit you best.  Most colleges are staffed with a career counsellors in case you are already a UK student.

Which cities do people love to study in more?

People often like to study in beautiful towns and popular tourist cities that attract the bulk of  visitors. For this reason, Oxford colleges and Cambridge colleges are usually the top and paramount choices of most students in the UK. Bath, Manchester and Birmingham are popular amongst students too. However, the UK is well reputed for its A level colleges and various sixth forms. A lot of international students choose Bellerbys College for its multiple locations in four popular UK cities, making  the college unique. The same college in four different locations: London, Cambridge, Oxford and Brighton! Isn’t that amazing! It’s one of the top choices in the UK and majority of the students graduate to prestigious universities within and outside the UK.

You’ve already made a wonderful decision to study in the UK and you’re doing a good job by wanting to attend the top schools. Good Luck, you will get there!
