Saman Alavifard from Tehran, Iran
Studied ELP, followed by GCSE then A Levels
"Whatever your expectations of Bellerbys, they will be exceeded. Nowhere else can you get such a vast range of support and meet such a diverse range of people.
The architecture of the new building is just eye opening. The facilities are excellent and everything is brand new.
I have found my A Level course so far challenging and demanding. But there is nothing to worry about as there are highly qualified teachers who are always happy to help.
The financial support is good. I was awarded two scholarships which were set against tuition fees for my first and second year of A Level studies, due to achieving high marks in my GCSE and AS exams at Bellerbys.
The Union Society holds topical debates and there are loads of other activities that you can participate in. A thing to remember is that, Bellerbys is not just all about studying. As far as the social life is concerned, your problem will probably be deciding which activity. Playing tennis in Brighton is one of my greatest pleasures and the May Ball is an enjoyable occasion which will remain in your memory."
Update: In 2008, Saman achieved a conditional offer to study Engineering at Churchill College, University of Cambridge.
